I would say something like, As side from a well diversified CPA collegiate education from (example The University of Texas Austin), I would also bring to your firm professionalism, attention to detail and quality team work. Something like that, it gives you an opening t add at least 4 different things to brag about yourself. :o) Best of luck
Answer 2 :
The fact that you imagine that other people, who have never met you, can tell you what qualities you possess beggars belief and you've got a degree - stunning. Engage your brain and think what you have to offer them mbecause nobody on here can tell you.
Answer 3 :
The main thing is: Don’t waffle on……or give long-winded answers to each question. Try to short, precise, POSITIVE and to the point with your answers. List your qualities. What experience you have, What you believe will make you successful in the position. Good Luck
Answer 4 :
My answer would be that I am a focused person, consistent, loyal, well articulate and informed with current affairs especially as it concerns the international financial sectors. I´ll also add that I am a creative and adventurous Man/woman who likes to play long tennis or squash at spare times. These qualities would let them see the kind od person you are, one they could rely on or not given the nature of responsibility you are about to be interviewed for. Good luck

Becoming an accountant?

Becoming an accountant?
Hi, im interested in becoming an accountant, however, i dont have a degree. I have GCSE's and for 2 of them i took business studies, which first got me intersted in cash flow and the money side of a business. Im currently working in a office (not related to accounting) I didnt know if there was a way that you could get into accounting by working and studying at the same time, either a day release to college or something similar? I don't really want to want to leave my job and go to college/uni thats the only thing. Would be grateful to receive any advice, Thanks

Answer 1 :
If you are interested in becoming an accountant there are two levels of achievement you can attain. Firstly, there is the technician level (AAT or CAT) which if achieved through passing exams and gaining the required practical experience will allow you to work in a wide variety of support roles within a finance environment. Secondly, there is chartered level (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW and CIPFA) which is set at a much higher level of attainment and will allow you to work as a senior finance professional. From your question it would appear that you do not have any A Levels. It would therefore be the case that you should be looking at studying for the technician level exams first. After you have achieved this then I would suggest that you then go on to take the chartered level exams so that you can enjoy the status and money which being a chartered accountant brings. The choice of which chartered body's exams to take will depend on which area of finance you are interested in working in. If you are interested in a career in industry then the CIMA or ACCA qualification would be relevant. If you are interested in working in the public sector (such as the health service) then the CIPFA or ACCA qualification would be ones to consider. However, if you are interested in working in public practice, as either an auditor or a tax advisor, then the ACCA or ICAEW qualification would be more suited. As you can see from the above the ACCA qualification is geared towards all sectors of accountancy employment. This is because individuals have the choice at the final levels of the ACCA exams to specialise in one area of finance. This is an option which the other chartered bodies do not allow. There is one additional benefit of studying for the ACCA exams for an individual in your position who does not want to go to university. This is the ACCA/Oxford Brookes University scheme whereby after you have completed the first two levels of the ACCA exams you can submit a 5,000 word essay to Oxford Brookes University and if deemed up to standard this university will award you a BSc in Applied Accountancy. The degree class will be based on your ACCA exam results thus far and given that your employer will probably meet the costs of your ACCA study and exams then the cost of the degree to you will only be the cost of submitting the essay to Oxford Brookes University. This will cost you less than £100 and therefore will be much cheaper than going to university full time with tuition fees and the like! If you do choose to study for the ACCA exams then I would suggest that you try and study for the CAT exams in order to achieve technician level status. This is because the ACCA abandoned the AAT qualification back in the mid 1990s to form the CAT scheme. It will therefore be the case that being CAT qualified will entitle you to more exemptions from the ACCA exams than the AAT qualification will. Answer 2 :
YOu can do the AAT course which is the Association of Accounting Technicians..I did this a couple of years ago..and it was excellent..it took one year at college and you can leave and start of as a book keeper. If your employers would pay..that would be great!! You can Def. get day release..depending on where you live..there are colleges that are AAT based. It doesn't cost too much..in fact I still have my books left from when I studied. I am still a member of the AAT too, even though I no longer work in that field. http://www.aat.org.uk Good luck!! Also look up your local colleges and they will have a website where you can inquire about courses, the price, day releease. My course was one day a week!!
Answer 3 :
If you are in the UK, there is 3 years to complete to get to technician which is the aim. AAT Accounting Foundation AAT Intermediate Technician Level Each year can be done with 3 styles of learning to choose from: Full Time = 2.5 days a week Part time = 1 long day a week, in Kent its 12 noon to 7.30pm Fast Track = 3 hours one evening a week which moves very very fast and you actually teach yourself by working through the books with advice and a bit of explanation. The college prefer you to be working in an office environment, so the long day would probably be ideal, Your company may even help you with the cost of the course, which if you were in accountancy some companies pay it all for you. Good Luck, you dont need any qualifications to start but you seem to be switched on already. Find out through your local college website, prices may not be set yet but they will be similar to last year, Happy studying. Sorry got no info on any other studying as I'm doing AAT Intermediate at the moment.
Answer 4 :
There are a lot of companies that will reimburse you for your tuition and even flex your schedule (if your classes are job related) and you usually have to maintain a b average
