Would you pay for a bookkeeper to do work instead of doing it yourself?
I am a part qualified accountant and was thinking of setting up to do some private bookkeeping myself. If you have a small business would you be willing to pay someone for this service rather than do it yourself?

Answer 3 :
If you are part qualified you should be aware of your Institute's guidelines on setting up and operating your own practice. There are many complicated regulations to be followed, and for most people this compliance is enough to dissuade them from setting up in the first place. If you don't follow them, there are disciplinary proceedings which could lead to you being barred from accountancy work full stop.

I am also P.Q & QBE. AAT, I know people who do this, mostly through work of mouth but I am sure with the correct advert, no problem.

If you can spend the time spent on bookkeeping more profitably in your business then yes. I do my accounts on a spreadsheet at the ned of each quarter (VAT) and usually find it quite restful. But then I still pay my accountant £400-£500 a year.
Answer 7 :
Many people outsource their bookkeeping.
